Monthly Cigar Swap Sign-ups for July 2007

Post in this thread if you want to participate (you can email if you like,
but I would prefer postings in the group). The deadline for signing up is
July 2. I'll post the pairings on or slightly after the 3rd of July.

Please read the FAQ (below) before deciding to participate!

FAQ - Monthly Cigar Exchange.

Q: How many cigars?
A: Two (minimum, no maximum)

Q: How do I participate?
A: A sign-up *** is posted near the end of the month on ASC, for
the following month, entitled/subjected: Monthly Cigar Swap sign-ups
for _________ (month).

Q: What is the protocol?
A: You will be assigned a partner who has also signed up for that month.
One of the coordinators will post a list at ASC under the subject: _______
(month) Swap Partners. Your next step is to contact your partner
off-list, and exchange information i.e.-Real name if using an alias, Snail
Mail address.
*(!!!)* *REMINDER: the SENDER decides the type, size and wrapper
color of the cigars, NOT the receiver.*
*(!!!)* *The RECEIVER *cannot* request cigar preferences.*
*(!!!)* Send ISOMs at your own risk

*****IMPORTANT***** *Please attempt to have your cigars packed and
possibly mailed by the 20th of the month!!!*

Q: Are ALL types of cigars okay to send?
A: No. Anyone caught sending Phillies, White Owls, or any other cigar
deemed a drugstore cigar will be banned from future swaps. What is
considered a drugstore cigar and whether or not you will be banned is at
the coordinator's sole discretion. You may send ISOMs at your own risk,
but donʼt expect to get ISOMs in return.

Q: Do I have to post a review?
A. No, but it would be nice.

Q: My cigars are packed, now what?
A: Mail them to your partner. Email your partner offlist and tell
them theyʼre on their way. Please do not clog up the ASC newsgroup
with messages that they've been sent. The natives will get their
panties in a bunch! (not that I really care though)

*(!!!)* *Re-read the above!*

Q: I have received my cigars, now what?
A: NOW Post on ASC: ___________ (month) cigars received in the subject
line, and then in the message: from________ (your assigned partner) It
is recommended that you also email your partner offlist. It is not
necessary to post what you received! A simple "Thank you". Will suffice.
The natives will consider it bragging and theyʼll start pounding on their
war drums.

Q: A situation has arisen... what to do?
A: If you cannot meet your obligation, please let your partner know
as soon as possible. Also, inform the coordinator offlist, ASAP.
Arrangements can be made to accommodate everyone.

Q: Am I automatically included in every exchange once I've signed up?
A: NO. You'll need to sign up each and every month that you wish to be
included. (this way, one can participate on a month by month basis)

Q: Iʼve been stiffed what should I do?
A: Sorry to hear there are deadbeats in ASC. Please donʼt post it on ASC
though. Email the coordinator (TedR) and Iʼll make sure that
the stiffer is put in the ASC timeout chair until they know how to play
well with others.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**: *It has been decided that if you are behind in the
exchange, you will not be allowed to sign up until you have caught up
with your OBLIGATION.*

*ADDITION(s) to the FAQ's:*

1. IF you have ANY 'problem' with overseas mailing/postal costs,
again, PLEASE speak up, by either:
a. posting 'that' along WITH your sign-up, OR
b. emailing the coordinators so that they can attempt to pair
you with someone IN your nearby vicinity.

2. Once the last call for signups have gone out, if you are a
straggler, and want in, it's up to YOU to email the coordinator OFF
list and request a late pairing.

3. When you send your partner their cigars, DO remember to:
a. include your return address
b. include your name in a note *with* those cigars
c. include in said note which month they are *for*, as your
partner may have other month's still coming to them, albeit
'late'. Any other questions can be directed to the newsgroup ASC, under
the subject "Cigar Swap questions". You may also have concerns that you
wish to inquire about off-list.

Thank you for your participation in the Monthly Cigar Swap project.
