Last year we lucked out with La Nina redirecting storm paths and weakening those that did kick up, this year El Nino may kick in and make things kinda nasty.

And if they are so unpredictable, perhaps one should not be so loud in
predicting them.
Unfortunately the public memory is short term and if you don't beat them over the head with it they sit on their collective ass doing nothing until it's too late (New Orleans comes to mind)and then bitch about the lack of federal help after the fact.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
