A lot to that...had a shipmate that was retiring and during his
retirement physical they asked him how long it had been since his heart
attack! Talk about blind-siding someone...scared the unholy crap out of

How do they tell if you've had a "minor" [/unnoticed] heart attack? If
one suspects one has had one (or a "small" stroke), what would one ask
their MD, and what tests would he perform?

Dunno about the stroke, but in the case of a "minor" (actually no such
thing, unless survival is the criteria) heart attack.....immediately
after (for a day or two maybe?) a blood test determines the presence
of a couple amino acids that are only present in specific high
concentration when there has been a "cardiac event". Beyond the short
term, a good cardiologist can read an EKG and determine damage
levels....generally a stress (treadmill) EKG is necessary IIANM. Yeah,
I only know this having had two MI's.
