Weight had little to do with it. The three things proven since 1950
that one can do to increase longevity have been re proven in over 30
articles since (last one 2004 in JAMA): 1) don't smoke cigarettes; 2)
lower cholesterol; 3) control blood pressure. End of discussion.
Your friend died because of his genetic cholesterol which predisposed
him to early coronary artery disease. Your protestations about his
weight were misdirected. Had you had him get treatment for his
cholesterol and you might have done him some real good instead of
making his life short life miserable by harping him about his weight.
