Been there, done that. It had locked up once before and I had to allow
the battery to drain for it to reset, but that didn't happen this
time. I even opened the unit up and unplugged the hard drive &
battery.

My kids wanted to use it for an "analysis" - in other words, break it
up. But I haven't quite thrown in the towel. If I can fix it for a few
bucks I have one for the car, etc.
