I believe the Politically correct push to eliminate smokers has less to do with health and business and more to do with conditioning people to accepting compromises in their personal freedoms as a vehicle leading to bigger things. This is a big picture view.
Reasonable people will agree that businesses should be free to choose whether their environment is smoke free or not. Brain washed zealots will not concede this possibility under any circumstances, so successful the PC campaign has been.
