Brewster's Millions, or a bolt of silk twill

In Don's bra-design group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Custom-Bras/ ,
I wanted to respond to a remark about matching panties and bras, and
began "If I were given Brewster's Millions and told that I had to have
an entire new wardrobe . . . "
And my mind wandered off into the fabric-buying spree such a situation
would require and I never did write the post.
The first thing I'd do would be to order an entire bolt of Dharma's
silk twill . . .
Well, the *first* thing I'd do is buy the house across the street so
I'd have a bedroom and a work room for my live-in seamstress, not to
mention space to store all my new stuff, but I've wanted to buy silk
twill ever since I learned that it exists, but I haven't thought of a
use for it.
Postulating a live-in wardrobe mistress and a need for a complete
wardrobe, I can think up uses. First a couple of bras. I'd want at
least a dozen linen bras, but I think two white-silk bras would be
plenty. Assorted silk slips; I can design dresses to wear over them
later. Silk drawers for winter and for under wool slacks. Maybe
add silk lace and call them pettipants.
Everybody needs a white blouse, but the twill is too sheer. <calls up
web site> I've never seen a sample of 30mm Crepe de Chine, but I
suspect that I would like it very much. And they've got a semi-sheer
wool blend now . . .
