I have 2 Pfaff embroidery machines. I've had one for more than 20 years,
and a used one I've had about 3 years. I got the 2nd one because I love
the 1st one so much. The stitch is beautiful and it quietly hums along.
This past month I discovered that I should check it more often then I
usually do because the batteries help it retain it's memory. They both are
supposed to flash a message when I should check batteries, so I did and
they
had leaked out without me even thinking about it. Fortunately, my service
guy was able to clean up the battery area and it once again sews like new.
I love my two Pfaffs! But from now on I will check the batteries once a
year, when I check the smoke detector batteries!

Barbara--thanksfor the tip. do the non embroidery machines also use a
battery???
betsey
No they do not. Only the ones with the computer in them. Pfaff sells leak
proof batteries but they are way expensive, much easier to just change them
yearly
