Sharon, I have a jacket in my closet I made several years ago and cut one

Actually, as you said, it slipped and ended up being about 1-inch short by
the side seam and about 4-inches at the outer edge. The lining is a
bright multi-colored floral design; I could probably just piece it, so it
wouldn't
show much and after all, it is for me, not a gift. But when it happened,
I was so disgusted, I hung it in the closet and there it is today.

It was part of a pantsuit and I've worn the pants so often, they are
looking
very worn. I'll have to get some black or navy blue ones to wear with it.

Oh no!! I understand how you felt though. It was pretty disgusting last
night when I found this one.

Look at the jacket and see if you still like it. It's had a time out now, so
it should have learned its lesson and I'm certain it will behave better for
you now. ;) If you still like the rest of the jacket, I bet you could do
something to deal with the lining. Either piece it like you said, or pull
it out and remake the lining in something else.

The worst part is how smart it makes you feel when you find something like
this isn't it??? lol
