When I was a child and there were very few things that were decent to eat (because my mom was a horrible cook for the most part and all of us children have serious weight problems -- I think it's because we never learned to listen to our bodies to say when we had had enough to eat because no matter how much we ate, our taste buds were screaming they hadn't had anything), the only two things that were in the house that were good to eat (aside from fresh fruit that she kept in stock when it was in season) was ice cream and toast with butter and cinnamon sugar. They are both trigger foods to me, and I try to stay away from them. I can understand the butter on toast thing, I really can. Spent a lot of time being diagnosed as severely clinically depressed, except that it ended up being a whacked thyroid and on thyroid medication I feel wonderful. But I still remember the feeling.
