Re: Too late for this year's tree...

I'm with you. We haven't had a tree in years, and the last few we did have was an 18" tree decorated with miniature ornaments -- it's in a bag in the cold room in the basement. Sometimes I think of bringing it up, but that means chasing cats who steal the ornaments. My husband is off to Seattle Monday or Tuesday to spend Xmas with the grandkids, which they'll all enjoy, and I'll feed the cats and birds and enjoy a mini-holiday of my own. Peace on Earth - at least my small portion of it.

I enjoy Christmas. This year will be a lot easier for me. The past 2 years I had injuries that made me very uncomfortable and I spent a lot of time in the recliner. The tree this year is one w e cut down, the ornaments all have special significance. The children or I made them.
I also put an artificial tree in my kitchen, That one I decorate with fruit that I Dry and home made snow flakes. that's the one my grandchildren love. When my family does come,r they all bring a dish, a bottle of good cheer and desserts. We use paper plates and plastic utensils. They clean up for me and stock my freezer with all the left overs. My best friend comes to spend the day with us. She loves to be with my family and they love having her here. When It gets to much for us I think about doing things another way. To me the best part of Christmas is doing the holiday the you like, not the way people think you should.
