I hear and [read a bit] of Arabic not enough at all , i don`t speak it
at all because of my lousy accent,, When i incorporated the
proffsssional fiber works in my lectures, my Arraba students
corrrected my accent , than after 2 weeks i gave the same lecture in
Nazereth and happily used the new accent ,,,:" Hahah" cheered my
students there ," here we pronounce it THIS way !!!!" so i gave up ,
i listen to the radio, to news etc,,
I read and hear Yiddish , speaking , i don`t have enough vocubulary ,
but i get along .
i understand some ladino, not enough ...
I proofread my catalog in Arabic, But i will always take it to someone
who is an expert.
I insisted that the students in all groups learn all fiber terminology
in all 3 languages , Hebrew Arabic and English !!!

Ah, local accents are always a problem. I speak English with a "network TV" accent, finally - I think all the regional accent has subsided. I speak Spanish with a definite Mexican accent. ;-) Still, you are several languages up on most of us.

You are obviously a bridge builder, helping people make connections using their common threads. If only people would focus on what we all have in common, and not our differences, we would be better off, I think. Perhaps what the world needs is more Mirjams.
