Book reviews are often more about the reviewer than the
book being reviewed. If you come across a reviewer with
whom you tend to agree, make a note of the name because
there may be other books waiting for discovery. But so
many reviewers are more valuable as indicators of
misdirection - if they like a book, you will hate it; or
if they hate a book, you will love it. Plus some have an
axe to grind or fish to fry.

I don't usually seek our reviews, and give them only passing
notice in the local paper. I don't remember why I thought
this book would be good, I think it was something I heard on
PBS. Oh, well, I bought it at Costco for about half the
list price, so no big loss.
