I've never found a diet that worked for me. I have taken to eating less at meals, but still eat my goodies. That keeps me fairly stable, but far from thinner. Notice I do not say thin. The only time I was ever thin in my life was after been rather ill for 6 weeks, when I was in my 20's. You know what my doctor told me. Fatten up a little, you're too thin. Never heard that since.

There is a problem with older people who are thin and become ill. They have no reserves, and can lose the battle. I am quite safe from that, I could weather devastating illness and not starve to death. I wouldn't say that being significantly overweight is good, but I do think that the obsession to be very thin, to get rid of all fat, is not a very good idea, and makes people look sick even if they aren't. I see a lot of people on television who look like they could benefit from a good meal.
