My well loved 12-cup Krups recently took a fatal beating, and I'm thinking about getting a replacement with a thermal carafe. For myself, I only drink the one (very large ;-) cup of "half-caff-skim-milk-rich-chocolate-two-sweeteners" mocha every day, so I only use the larger pot for company.

I drink my coffee (usually French roast) black, no sugar. I do love the thermal pots that keep it hot without simmering it. Even so, there's nothing quite like a cuppa freshly brewed, but this is the next best thing. This pot came from Overstock with free shipping, not a bad deal, though it is "factory refurbished." No way I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a coffee maker.

and if the timer hasn't started it
yet, he pushes the button and gets his shower while the
coffee makes, then he has his coffee and reads the paper
before he goes off to do whatever it is that he does when
he goes off... Today he applied for social security.

Been there, done that.

We're winding down.

If I wind down any farther, I'll stop....

I've sure slowed down. The mind is willing, but the flesh is weak. But I worked several years past SS eligibility - this is the downside to marrying a younger man. There are still some upsides, though. ;-)
