notions

While buying notions do you stick to any particular brand? I just look
at the back of the pattern envelope and buy anything that matches the
description. Usually there's only one brand of the thing I'm looking
for. I bought a 1" elastic few days ago. After I opened the package
and I was working with it, I didn't like the way it looked/felt. Is
there a brand of notions that offers consistent quality?
