Sounds like a loose wire in the light fitting. Unplug
and have a look. If there is a loose wire, it
shouldn't be hard to fix. It may need soldering.

I'm pretty sure that's what Kate meant when she wrote: "Unplug
and have a look..." But in the case of electricity, better two warnings than none. ;-)
Ho yuss! UNPLUG BEFORE poking about inside your machine! Don't just switch it off - unplug the wretched thing as well! :)
