Re: Small Commercial Embroidery Machines vs Domestic

I know Janome make embroidery machines for several other manufacturers, but as far as I'm aware Brother do not make Janome.

Here is the message re the new releases......

I was at the Janome meeting on Tuesday in Chicago and there are several
wonderful new machines coming out this fall, none are 'quilting'.

The one that will be great for the quilt artist is XPRESSION, which is a
machine that has 5 needles for felting fabric. It comes with a video and a
kit
to
help one get started with this technical. I have had people asking about the
felting needle, this is a felting machine. I personally can't wait to try it
when it comes out in October.

Janome is also updating the 300E embroidery machine, the new machine, the
350E offers additional means to transfer embroidery designs from the
computer to
machine and a thread cutter along with other improvements.

They are also coming out with a 4 needle embroidery machine. It is geared
for the home user that wants to go professional without the huge expense of
a
commercial machine. This machine will be available to participating dealers
after November. Each dealer has to be trained on the machine before they can
bring it into their shops.

The rest of the machines being introduced are regular sewing machines with a
msrp of $500.00 or less. They are nice machines for the person who wants a
good solid machine without spending a lot.

The new machines will be advertised in the different quilting magazines, so
make sure you visit your dealers and ask what they have new. You will have
to
go every month as different ones are coming out each month from now until
Christmas.

All sounds very exciting, doesn't it? I've guessed for a while that the 300E would be upgraded.

While I don't have any experience with commercial machines, I just
wanted to say that Janome will be releasing a 4 needle semi-commercial
machine very soon......heard it on the grapevine, LOL. Not sure if

this

helps or hinders your decision.

Was wondering if there was any huge difference in terms of build and
stitch quality between the small commercial embroidery machines like

the

Melco Stellar or Star, versus say the TOL or MOL machines sold for

home

use such as by Brother or Janome. Are the commercial machines easier

or

more difficult to get on with?

Hmm, interesting, very interesting.

Aren't Janome embroidery machines made by Brother? I merely require
information as the Brother versions are usually less expensive than
their Janome cousins.

Will keep an eye out, thank you for the heads up.
