The CF is Schmetz only
it is not a cover stitch per se, as much a specially designed for these new
machines. That long grove in the back as well as the larger scarf is very
important. if the loopers contact the needles due to a smaller scarf you
just bought many many boxes of needles.

You are a prince! Thank you so much for looking into that for me. That
makes sense if you are using the machine at high speed for long
periods--- something I can't personally imagine doing very much with a
coverstitch. But I certainly do a lot of ordinary overlocking at top
speed for long periods. Ron, is the ELx705 CF a Schmetz or an Organ
needle? Or do they both make it?

I can't help but wonder why Babylock says to use a coverstitch needle on
the Evolve even when not coverstitching.
