OK group, After much research this is what I have found out.
The ELX705 needle system is specially designed for cover stitch machines.
Has a long grove on both the front and back as well as a slightly larger
scarf and a light ball point. The CF stands for Chrome finish, this should
reduce heat and wear and aid in slipping through the fabric slightly. Not
sure it is worth the extra $1.00 per pack or not.
As always I suggest if the manufacturer suggests it then it is in your best
interest to use it. The machine manufacturer makes not one cent on the
needles you purchase after you buy the machine. In fact they themselves have
to pay more for those needles that they include with it new.
Hope I helped clear this up a bit

You are a prince! Thank you so much for looking into that for me. That
makes sense if you are using the machine at high speed for long
periods--- something I can't personally imagine doing very much with a
coverstitch. But I certainly do a lot of ordinary overlocking at top
speed for long periods. Ron, is the ELx705 CF a Schmetz or an Organ
needle? Or do they both make it?

I can't help but wonder why Babylock says to use a coverstitch needle on
the Evolve even when not coverstitching.
