Can anyone tell me if it is possible to alter a pair of my dress slacks so
that they are not so wide. These are nice slacks and fit nicely at the
waist but I find that once you hit the side pockets they are a little too
wide right down the leg. Thanks if anyone can help.
side of each pantleg (add or subtract), you must do to the other side
of the same pantleg, or they will twist on your leg when you walk. I
can't remember which sewing expert it is that deserves credit for this
- someone I saw on Sandra Betzina's tv program once.
You could measure the bottem edge of a pair of slacks you like, divide
it by 2, lay out flat the pair and mark a line that tapers up to the
hip line. Then baste and try it on before stitching.
If you are subtracting from a pantleg, be sure to leave the opening
large enough to get your foot through.
