Does your serger have both loopers on the bottom or one on the bottom and one on the top?
I have both on the bottom and I don't think I could fit the 1" elastic on the looper side without
the top looper hitting it.

Hi Mike,

With the wrong side (inside / next to skin side) of the boxers up, place the elastic on top of the fabric so that it totally sits on the fabric - it doesn't stick out at all - the top of the elastic is level with the top of the boxers. Now serge this edge as per Sharon's directions.

Now fold the top down to the wrong side so the elastic is covered and use your SM to stitch - I'd use a narrow zig zag - the edge down to keep everything in place. If your serger does cover stitch, you can use that to sew the edge down. This is a very common RTW finish on items with elasticated waists.

It's one of these things thats a darn sight easier to explain in pictures than words!
