I got the serger. It's a "Bernette" for Bernina FunLock 006D. Pretty
basic, but I've put it through its paces and it looks to be a workhorse.
Which is precisely what I was after. :) Best thing I like so far is that
all I have to do to switch to a rolled hem is shorten the stitch length and
slide the little lever back. Really cool. (Love my White, make no mistake,
but changing out the stitch plate can be a PITA.) Have made one decision
though, I will try my best to only thread it by tieing on. It's a piece of
work to thread. Not horrible, but I found my tongue sticking out the corner
of my mouth several times and I'm pretty sure I was scowling a good bit too.
lol Very much a basic machine, but I could not be happier with it.

Would have bought the Necchi she had too. However, the paper misprinted her
ad. The paper said she was asking $25 for it. She actually wants (and
really should get, it's a very nice machine) $125 for it. So I told her I
would pass on that for now. She did tell me that if she doesn't sell it in
a reasonable amount of time, she will call me and we could work something
out, if I would like to pay less for it than that.

Really nice gal. She does alterations but is trying to pare down her
clientele. She said she thought she and her husband were both going to
retire, then she cackled. So I'm guessing that he has other ideas. lol I
told her to rest assured the machine was going to a good, loving home and
would be well taken care of. ;)

And yes, I will have to baby my sweet husband a little bit. He really did
find me a gem. :)
