Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of time and just annoys the
pig.

I recently got what looked like a bill for a magazine that I had just
subscribed to, BUT it stressed three years and when I figured it out, it
was twice the amount and wasn't from the magazine, but from some other
group. You had to read carefully to note all this. It was in fine print
at the bottom of the back side of the "form" ... from things I've seen, I
think this kind of thing is increasing. I got Capitol One notices WEEKLY
for a number of months. Just shredded them, and then finally got annoyed
and started "black permanent marker" marking all over them with "I do not
want this stuff" ... this happened three times and I've never received any
thing from them again. There have been worse things.

I do believe that we need to stand up to it. Some of this, regardless of
what it is, is just plain deceptive and perhaps borders on being illegal.
If we don't stand up to it, we'll have problems, but likewise people who
don't understand what's going on, or are old or timid or weak will be
taken advantage of.

Good for you for the rant. We need backbone these days.
