eVent (not event) source?

I have been having a really hard time distinguishing between eVent and
event in search engines. I have read and heard a lot about eVent
"fabric" or material or technology, but how do you get some? Is eVent a
"thing" or a proprietary way of assembling different layers that no
layman could ever achieve?

Is eVent similar to GoreTex and has to be lined and vented and all that
or can I get some yards of eVent and start cutting?
