Re: OT? Where is Tom Farrell lately?

Sports coat, blazer and suit coats are all about the same.  They have lapels and certian types of pockets, such as breast pocket on one side (not that there can't be a breast pocket on each side, because sometimes there are).

Ski coats don't have lapels, anymore.  If some fashion designer brought lapels back to ski coats, when it starts raining on the slopes some skiiers would not be happy.  Todays ski coats are designed to protect the wearer from the elements, well the better ones are.

You were asking me, one time, where I get my polical informations, a little bit has come from here Imprimis http://www.hillsdale.edu/ - thought you might be interested.

I was thinking about making a ski coat, so I had your website in mind.  It is rather confusing what fabics to buy and how to seal them properly.  But, for a $140 I bought one better than I could make.  Tamarack Jacket by Marmont http://www.marmot.com/products/product.php?cat=cloth&subcat=36&style_id=G4839  Click on "enlarge picture".  It is a bit big and baggy, but I can move my arms all around without the body of the coat and collar hardly moving.  Since it is also a rain coat I can put other coats underneath it comfortably. There is a linner that zips into it.  Perhaps I'll buy one of them, too.
