I just made a polar fleece robe for a friend's son for his 3rd birthday.
The little prince Loves it! I have an embroidery machine too. So I put his
name on it about where a breast pocket would be. He is so thrilled with it.
His mom said he puts the robe on then crosses his ankles, leans back on the
pillow and smoothes the robe down his legs. lol Also no one is allowed to
tie it closed for him. I don't think anyone is allowed to touch it....or
look at it for long. LOL Just to let you know that might be a really well
received gift. ;)
Oh! And my best robe-for-a-child tip: Attach the belt to the robe at the
CB. That way it can't be lost in the laundry, etc. I set my machine for
the side of a button hole (or a short satin stitch) and sew across the belt
that way. I usually do two rows so it's on there firmly.
