Is your modem on the modem list? I use an old Cardinal 2400 for
remote
downloading Napco panels.
It's in the list. Its US robotics sportster 33.6 fax modem...
I' ve got those messages:
Modem has connected
Obtaining panel type
Communication retry - Continuing
Communication retry - Continuing
Communication retry - Continuing
OK
Modem Communication Completed
Panel did not respond in time.
I believe it must be a panel error...
And of course did you set the software for the modem you are using?-

There is nothing else in the line. I did the download in my lab. I set
up the modem from the modem setup menu.
Today i'll try another new one XP600 panel to find out if it was a
panel's problem.
And you are sure that modem is on the approved modem list. Then it just
leaves the panel I guess. I dunno. I've been using the old Cardinals for
years and they work great for me.- Απόκρυψη κειμένου σε παράθεση -

The same with a new one panel... it must something with my modem
settings... Can i use ademco cia 2400 modem? it is not in the list...- Απόκρυψη κειμένου σε παράθεση -

Or i do a mistake in the procedure. What i'm doing is: i open a new
account. i.e. for napco xp600. i insert in the field with codes the
dealer and the master code that i'm using in the panel and call the
panel using ring count method. The panel answers the call but while
trying to obtain the panel type it disconnects...
Yes, use the Ademco CIA and select cardinal settings. This is what I currently use.
