But nothing about *79 makes sense to me...

Assuming that on Zone 15 I want to send an X10...what do I need to do ?

You need to program the relay to respond to the zone not the zone to activate the relay.

First you identify the output (relay or X-10) then program the relay as to what will activate it and what it will do once activated.
