Re: Security system for 2-story building with parking-lot?

Some businesses only install what is required by local authorities (fire)
and what is required by their insurance company. No more. Ask fire
dept./insurance company what is required if anything. Many businesses are
not required to have anything.

Other businesses have certain things they want to protect. They install
devices which protect what they want protected.

Some people want a record of everything which goes on at the property. 24
hour Cameras everywhere and card access for everyone entering/exiting.
Perhaps employee theft is a concern.

Then there is high security - maybe government related businesses. For this
the government will have specific requirements which may include 24 hour
armed guards and all sorts of gizmos here and there. If a mouse moves inside
or outside of the building, you will know about it and have a full record of
the event!

Also what comes into play is local crime statistics. What is going on in the
neighborhood? Ask the local police department what is going on. Install a
system appropriate for the crimes going on in that specific area.

Some areas have *no* burglary whatsoever (rural small towns). So it would be
silly to install burglary protection in such an area. Some areas have
trouble with cars in the parking lot being broken into. So good idea to have
cameras and maybe even a fenced in lot with gate. (Security includes gates,
fences, bars on doors/windows, etc. as needed.)

Hi everyone,

What security system is needed for a 2-story building with a
parking-lot surrounding it? What are the necessary components?
Approximate costs?

Expert answer would be appreciated indeed....

Thanks,
Mike
