Islam is not your Enemy!
Ever since the Soviet Union crumbled to dust, a steady drum beat has
emanated from the media capitals of the ‘Developed’ world warning them
of their next enemy. Every major news paper screamed that ‘Communism
is dead but there exists an enemy (an old one though ...) that is
waiting in the wings’. Slanted references and jaundiced opinions
against Muslims & Islam began to appear in every type of media near
the end of the Cold War. A day does not pass nowadays without new and
recycled vitriol appearing against Islam & it adherents.
What has led to the present state of affairs? Is this kind of
propaganda against Muslim countries justified? Are the Muslims so
powerful that they can knock down the proverbial ‘Gates of Vienna’ at
the time of their choosing? Let’s reflect upon this a bit. The most
important factors which determine the well being of a society or
country can be broadly categorized in to 3 types –
1- Scientific attitude & development
2- Political Strength
3- Economic Strength
Let’s analyze the present state of the Muslim world with respect to
these 3 factors.
1- Scientific attitude & development
The Muslims countries continue to languish in the areas of scientific
research. In the past few centuries, the contribution of the Muslim
countries to cutting edge areas of science is close to a zero.
No Muslim country has been able to develop a Space/ Satellite program
which is worth the pixels on your screen. Compare that with the
advanced Space exploration of USA, India, Europe and China. USA sent a
man to the moon 30 years ago. China plans to replicate that feat in
the next decade.
And what can the Muslims do? They can’t even send a man across 7
continents using indigenous technologies. They don’t even know how to
manufacture a plane without western help. Leave alone planes, they
can’t even design cars that can compete in the global market. Even the
shoes they wear are manufactured by nations which are not Muslim.
No Muslim country has been successful in harnessing nuclear power for
electricity by using nuclear fission except one. And forget nuclear
fusion - the Muslim countries can’t even dream about that technology.
Contrast that with the recent International fusion reactor which is
being developed by everyone except the Muslim countries.

“I told the students that we (Israel) are now at the height of our
power. We have a vast technological, economic and military
superiority. The sole super-power in the world is our close ally. The
Arab world is split; its countries are governed by corrupt and
inefficient regimes that do not give a damn for the Palestinians.”
Coming back to the topic in question, majority of Muslims masses are
backward and lack means to a decent education, health care and
livelihood. They blindly follow the opinions of their so called
leaders. The Muslims are sunk so deep in superstition that they seek
to solve the problems of the living by calling out to the dead. Which
community could be more foolish than this?
In spite of these massive shortcomings, Muslims are portrayed as the
next super power who are about to enter the Anglo Saxon world and
devour its riches. I ask just one simple question - Given the present
scenario of the Muslim world, is this possible or probable?
Any sane person whether Muslim or Non Muslim would say “NO.” Or in
everyday lingo, he/she would look at you with a wry smile on his/her
face and then respond “Are you nuts?”
In fact the next super power is billed to be China or India. Every new
report on this issue confirms this view. Listen to what ex World Bank

Yet, irrational fear is instilled into the minds western people about
the poor Muslims.
2- Political Strength
Most Muslim countries are ruled by dictators who are steeped in
colonialist ideologies. They are corrupt and are answerable to none.
Muslim countries routinely top the charts of corruption and every kind
of wrong doing. Muslims are prevented from practicing their religion
even in their homelands. Ironically it is easier to grow a beard and
wear the hijab in non Muslim countries such as USA, India and Europe
rather than historically Muslim countries like Algeria, Egypt,
Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey. Most of its rulers dance to neo
colonialist tunes and destroy its citizens lives based upon
illusionary charges.
Democracy is routinely gang raped by Muslim governments who are used
by the Neo colonialist powers to keep the Muslims under check.
Democracy was gang raped 15 years ago by the ‘Muslim’ government of
Algeria in collusion with the ‘Democratic western governments’. Today,
democracy is being gang raped again in Palestine, yet no one cares two
hoots about it. Even if the Muslims elect a government, they are made
to confirm to the 'flavour' as required by the neo colonialists.
Otherwise, such governments are boycotted by the 'International
community' and subjected to every kind of humiliation. So much for
democracy!
As with regards to unity among the Muslims countries, Sheikh Deedat
used to say “The combined effect of the Muslims countries on world
affairs is never more than zero.” This was true 100 years ago and it
still holds good today.
3- Economic Strength
The economy of Spain is much better than the entire Arab world
combined. This one sentence is enough to sum up the dismal state of
affairs of the Muslim countries. Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years yet
they are nowhere close to even equaling Spain’s economic performance.
The Muslim countries have got addicted to a ‘drug’ called oil and very
soon the wells will run dry. What will happen to the Muslims then?
Will the situation of the Muslims countries get even darker? Can it
get even darker?
Conclusion
Muslims don’t seek to impose their religion on anyone else. When they
can’t even protect the ‘Gates of Baghdad’ how can they come knocking
on the ‘Gates of Vienna’?
All they want is a clean government which is accountable to its
people. They want to end the illiteracy among their peoples and offer
them a vision of a better tomorrow where the right to live and work is
guaranteed. They want affordable healthcare and housing. They want to
end the superstition and blind following of their societies. They want
to teach individuals to think independently and question every blind
belief. The Muslims are fed up of alien ideologies which has divided
and weakened them for the past 100 years or more. All they want to do
is follow the peaceful precepts of their religion.
Yet, Muslims are not being allowed to achieve these simple objectives.
By denying this to the Muslims, the ‘Coalition of the willing’ is
turning even the moderates into extremists. Muslims are being labeled
as extremists and terrorists who seek to enslave the world. They are
being projected as unthinking zombies who don’t care for human life.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. We are people just like you
who want to live peacefully with our wives and children. We want a
better tomorrow. We love life and value Peace. If the Western world
continues this repression then there is only one conclusion which
seems feasible – “You want to invade us and colonize and loot our
meager resources once more like you did a few decades ago and this
hullabaloo about ‘War on Terror’ is a big fat lie”.
Peace is a tango - it takes two to perform; two who respect each
other. Understand that, before it is too late!
