Yes the above verses from the Quran do show cut of the hands. But you
must have noticed this punishment is for an actual crime, not for
saving someone's life.
The thing is in Islam we also have a teaching like the Christians
would say 'turn the other cheek'; meaning to forgive. The Islamic law
is their and you can apply it if you wish but you can also forgive if
you like.
E.g. you own a shop, I come and steal a orange or two, you catch me
and tell me off and say don't do it next time and perhaps through the
goodness of your heart let me take the oranges that I have hidden in
my pockets; on the other hand you catch me and say I want his hands
chopped off I want to apply the law on this man. But it is a teaching
you must consider on the day of judgment, if you are the one who does
not want to forgive and forget then you should be ready face the same
judgement on the day of judgement (expecting no forgiveness on the day
of judgement) when it comes to your mistakes.

Both creation stories talk about the creation of the universe in a few
days,
but science tells it may have took far more longer than that.
With that, both books may just be written by men without any divine
interventions.
Oh yes I came across that one in a speech. I though six days, the
person talking (who was a Muslim) also said six simple 24 hours days
how can that be. But when you analyse the actual Arabic text on this
verse it is relating to six long days. Just for example Islam teaches
that the of judgement will be over 50,000 years longs when all will be
accounted, but it will be still one day, that is why we call the day
of judgement not the days of judgement.
A 24 hours day only applies on earth. Say for example we lived on
Jupiter because the planet is far bigger and further away form the
sun, one day will not be as short as 24 hours the day would increase
the number of days per one cycle year would increase etc. When you say
six simple 24 hour days you are limited the time dimension to this
earth and this earth alone.
In 1915 Einstein proposed that time was relative, that the passage of
time altered according to space, the speed of the person travelling
and the force of gravity at that moment. Bearing in mind these
differences in the passage of time, the period of time in which the
universe was created as revealed in seven different verses of the
Qur'an is actually highly compatible with scientists' estimations. The
six-day period revealed in the Qur'an can be thought of as six
periods. Because, taking into account the relativity of time, a "day"
refers only to a 24-hour period experienced on Earth under current
conditions. Elsewhere in the universe, however, at another time and
under other conditions, a "day" could refer to a much longer period of
time. Indeed, the word "ayyamin" in the period of six days (sittati
ayyamin) in these verses (Qur'an 32:4, 10:3, 11:7, 25:59, 57:4, 50:38,
and 7:54) means not only "days," but also "age, period, moment, term."
Here some more simple scientific verses in the Quran.
And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily,
it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Qur'an, 51:47)
I would say your conclusion is, at best, ambiguous.
I think there is nothing ambiguous about "it is we who have
constructed the heaven with might and we who are steadily expanding
it".
It is clear that someone is saying that they have created the heavens
and then they then are saying they it is who are expanding that very
created heaven.
"They" are expanding it. "They" means more than one. Doesn't that conflict
with Islam?
It could also mean nothing since many other entries in the Quran are
incorrect.
It could also be taken as steadily expanding until the completion of the
creation process.
The research science and find out if the universe is expanding and it
is when did they discover this and confirm it as a fact, the universe
is still expanding, 1400 years ago? No, it is a recent discovery.
Until the dawn of the 20th century, the only view prevailing in the
world of science was that "the universe has a constant nature and it
has existed since infinite time." However, modern research,
observations, and calculations carried out by means of modern
technology have revealed that the universe in fact had a beginning and
that it constantly "expands."
So how was this scientific fact written in the Quran did Muhammad have
some sort of time machine etc? NO.
And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the
Almighty, the All Knowing. (Qur'an, 36:38)
The sun does not run to its resting place rather it is the earth turning
which gives the illustion the earth is mmoving to a restinng place.
what?
I'm assuming you understand that the earth revolves around the sun. The sun
gives the appearance that it is descending beyond the horizen and going to
its resting place until the next morning when it reawakens. Yes, the sun is
also moving within the universe but that it not what your quoted the passage
is saying. It's obvious the writer is referring to the nightly sunset.
The earth is turning on its axis. And the above reference has nothing
to do with the earth, so I don't know how you managed to bring that
into the equation about the earth moving to a resting place.
And if you do some research then you would find that every planet,
moons, and large stars had a gravitation force and the larger the star
the larger the gravitational force it would have and since the sun is
the largest spherical object in our solar system it has the largest
gravitational pull which (the sun) is also pulling everything in its
gravitational field the distance it moves itself.
These facts set out in the Qur'an were only discovered by means of
astronomical advances in our own time. According to astronomers'
calculations, the Sun moves along a path known as the Solar Apex in
the path of the star Vega at an incredible speed of 720,000 kmph. In
rough terms, this shows that the Sun traverses some 17.28 million km a
day. As well as the Sun itself, all the planets and satellites within
its gravitational field also travel the same distance.
Your reference states the sun runs to its resting place not moving to a
non
exxistent resting place.
I thought the word running related to some nature of movement. The
resting place is mentioned in the Quran and you call it a non-existent
resting place because you don't know where that resting is, just
because you don't know where that place is doesn't mean it doesn't
exist.
The referenced resting place is the horizen and emplies the sun is rotating
around the earth. The sun does not move in relation to the earth but rather
the earth moves in relation to the sun.
I've heard most of the above comments many times and have yet to hear a
logical and believable explanation. Actually, the explanationss usually
appear to provide justification for the writers belief rather than an
explanation.
That is according to you.
Moses was tall and Mohammed was tall.
Jesus was short.
Moses lived to an old age and Mohammed lived to an old age.
Jesus died young.
Moses was a prophet and Mohammed was a prophet.
Jesus was a bigger prophet.
Get the drift? Your suggested similarities are a stretch of the
imagination.
The Quran has similar barbaric admmonitions so does that make the Quran also
With all due respect, I believe I have a much better and logical
explanation. In the beginning God first created angels, created allll
that
is and lastly created man. When God created the angels, he made Satan
the
most beautiful and creative of all the angels. Satan became uncensed
that
God would make something which was to be held in higher esteem than he.
Satan rebelled and in the Garden, Satan deceived Eve who in turn tempted
Adam and they both disobeyed God's injuction against eating of the
forbidden
fruit (whatever that was). God banned Satan, and those angels who
followed
him, to the confines of the earth. God then punished Adam and Eve for
their
disobedience by banning them from the Garden and eliminating their
ability
to directly commune with God. Satan was furious and has attempted,
throughout history to corrupt God's creation. After Satan's first
attempt
in the Garden, he next attempted to corrupt man by having some of the
fallen
angels co mingle with mankind and to mate with women. The offspring of
these matings were known as Nephalim and had attributes of both man and
angels. The Nephalim were evil and the entire earth, with the exception
of
Noah and his family became utter corrupt. God decided to destroy the
world
with a flood but also decided to allow Noah and his family to survive,
thus
eliminating the corrupt flesh of the Nephalim. The earth and mankind
recovered but Satan still did not rest in his quest. Satan knew
precisely
what the purpose of Jesus was to be. When Jesus was born, Satan used
Herod
in an attempt to thwart God's plan of redemption by having Herod
demanding
the deaths of all children under the age of two. This was to kill Jesus
before God's plan was immplemented. However, Joseph and Mary were warned
and escaped to Egypt. The next time Satan acted was to have Jesus killed
but
to his chagrine, that was God's plan. Lastly came Satan's master plan
and
that was a return to deception as a ploy for man is easily deceived.
This
time Satan uses truth as a weapon but it is a perverted truth. This time
Satan inspired a man to created a religion akin to the one given to the
decendents of Abraham. A religion very similar except with important
portions changed to deceive its adherents. The inspired new book flows
with
the Talmoud and bible but has subtle changes such as the story of Isaac
and
Ishmael. This deception is throughout this new text. The deception is
good
because it incorporates truth which mankind already is aware of. An
example
would be we don't need to be told we can breathe. However, the
explanation
of why we can breathe is where this new book deceives..
I have already proven to you a text in the bible which in no way shape
or form can be revelation of god; which ordered man to cut the hand of
a woman for saving his life.
non inspired? You can't have it both ways.
And the you still insist Muhammad
revelation is form satan. We Muslims believe in the miraculous birth
of Jesus, which some of you bishops don't even believe, we believe he
(Jesus) healed and bought the dead back to life by the permission of
god. We Muslims believe Mary the mother of Jesus was chosen above all
the women in the world to give birth this prophet of god, we believe
Mary is one of the most righteous women ever to walk on the face of
this planet. This is what Muhammad taught the Muslims, if satan had
anything to do with it people would still be worshipping gods of stone
which are made by the hands of man in those regions. In the time of
Muhammad the idol worshipping people where in good number but in that
the Jews still had a stronghold; and they looked at the Arabs and the
scum of the earth, now this Arab man Muhammad is saying listen to all
including the Jews (the Jews who say Mary was raped by a roman soldier
and gave birth to a illegitimate child) this Arab man is going out of
his way and saying look listen this Jewess that you attribute such
filth to is one of the most righteous women ever to walk on the face
of this planet she was chosen above all the women of this world to
give birth to one of god mightiest messengers. Why would this
illiterate Arab man go out of way to promote such thing which
certainly would provoke the Jews and it would also provoke pagan idol
worshippers in that region why would he do that because he was
inspired by the devil? NO. if he was inspired by the devil he would
have gone running to the Jews promoting the idol god they had in his
region.
That is the beauty of Satan's deception. Use 98% truth to make the 2% lie
acceptable. Did not Satan use deception to tempt and deceive Eve?
Then I ask you why are there such stories (like the one I mentioned to
about the women) which contradict righteousness in the bible, because
the bible has not been preserved. That is why I told you it does
contain in it the word of god but I also contains in the word of man
and also many other stories which in no way shape or form be
attributed to god.
Of course, there is some material written by man within the bible. The
bible is a history of the Jewish people. Some of the material is written as
a story to emphasize a point. The story of David and Golliath, The Song of
Solomon and many other instances. Is the story of the Passover God
inspired? No, it's a description of how the Jews were preserved from the
angel of death. However, it does have a spiritual message.
Granted, Christianity has swerved completely away from the vision of Jesus.
Islam is based upon the idea that Jewish and Christian texts are corrupted
and only the Quran can identify these mistakes. Seems awfully convenient.
