I agree that some aspects of religion can't stand up to it under some
circumstances. For instance, the once-religious (*and* once-common-sense)
notion that the Sun revolves around this planet couldn't stand up to to
reason allied with progress in data-gathering methods. But I'm inclined
to
believe that the existence (and also the *non*-existence) of some kind of
universe-transcending Creator will forever remain questions unresolvable
by
reason, common sense, and technology.

Certainly. But Mr. Thistlewaite wasn't talking about god or creators. He was
talking about religion, which are two *very* different things.

I really liked what Cuthbert wrote. Simple and to the point.
