religion, because religion cannot stand up to either.


I agree that some aspects of religion can't stand up to it under some
circumstances. For instance, the once-religious (*and* once-common-sense)
notion that the Sun revolves around this planet couldn't stand up to to
reason allied with progress in data-gathering methods. But I'm inclined to
believe that the existence (and also the *non*-existence) of some kind of
universe-transcending Creator will forever remain questions unresolvable by
reason, common sense, and technology.
