Well, we agree on half here. I believe there is a gap as deep as the
Grand Canyon between Islam and Christianity in that regard. Nations
comprised mostly of Christians are not theocratic. In fact, I can't
think of a single example. Moreover, it's obvious that for whatever
flaws Christianity presents, its followers have flourished like no
others, and its structure has allowed for reforms, criticism, and
change. Islam has not allowed for any of this. It is the faith,
culture, political bent, and foundation for societies under its
control. "Christian" nations have been the most dynamic and positive
influence in human history. Say what you want about the fundies and
their battles over ridding evolution in public schools, but that
doesn't even weigh as much as an electron when compared to the misery,
degradation, and failure of Islam as a whole. The two faiths as
represented by their respective cultures today have few similarities,
one reveres life, the other is enamored by death and makes no
apologies about it.

I've been an atheist ever since I can remember, and I'm secure enough
in my lack of faith not to be bothered by some of the absurd Christian
fundie gobbledygook. It's mostly harmless, benign, and not worth my
time. I feel the same way about the other side so crazed about "In God
We Trust" on our currency, a cross on a hill, and all that jazz. I do
feel as if the latter has been more effective in their crusade, to the
point where there's a battle over what to call Christmas trees for
crying out loud. With that said, it's still essentially harmless, and
a far distance from the daily true horrors on display across
Muslimville.

If, God forbid (hehehe), I was forced to choose between cross and
crescent...I'll take the cross. In fact, I'll help erect them.
