I've never heard of Christians converting people by violence and coercion (until these American Taliban were given a voice).

The various Crusades and Inquisitions come to mind. Missionaries
have been coercing native peoples around the world with trinkets,
medicines, fresh water, food, etc. If they don't attend the
church and convert, they get nothing. Not very nice. Oh, the
missionaries that came out to help "tame" the American West, had
no problems killing the Native Americans, nor did any of them put
out much effort to stop the genocide.
