LdS is short for Latter-day Saint(s) and is the preferred term for Mormon.
JW is a common abbreviation for Jehovah's Witness(es). Jehovah is a
sacred name and I try not to use it spuriously.
Others have answered your question on how you can know if the Book of
Mormon was inspired.
