Crucifixion is about as terrible torture as you can get and the Romans were
masters at it. Tortures simply do not come much worse than that. I would
have thought crucifixion would be such a horrible ordeal that the pain would
be pretty "infinite" for even a human. Why would an all caring, all loving
god allow such suffering ??? Remember, this appalling torture wasn't only
dished out to Jesus. You'll have to do better than this to explain to Alex
why this terrible death would atone humanity. LOL. What utter nonesense
:-)

I somehow don't think Alex will be swallowing your poor explanation.
