This question is the result of reading something in a novel. Is there a
difference between sanctified wine and blessed wine? I recall as a youngster
serving at mass and being told that both sanctified and unsanctified wine
were kept in the sacristy. But in that case what does the priest do during
mass? I mean, when does the wine turn into the blood of Christ? Is it when
the wine is blessed or is it when it's sanctified? What's the difference?
Do you mean consecrated wine? That happens on the altar at Mass and is fully
consumed at that Mass.
