Hi,

If the word would get out that pirates have started to do DAB+ at 320 Kbps, couldn't we expect the sale of these DAB+ receivers to go through the roof.
:-)

Perhaps not, if they have heard the sort of stuff the pirates broadcast on FM. Then again, if I pirate multiplex broadcast some stations playing music that a large proportion of people actually like, and broadcast it in high quality, then that might attract more listeners. They could simulcast on the internet (as many FM pirates do), which would allow people to discover whether they like them enough to invest in a DAB+ receiver.

Or use all these old wavefinder out there.

David has just released version 0.4 which has enhanced the DAB+ support already present in the 0.3 release.

That might be useful to me, if they start broadcasting DAB+ around here, and if I can find the power supply to my Wavefinder. It would be even better if I could find a way to connect it to my music server and stream it to my Squeezeboxes.

Don't think I'll get too excited though, unless it actually happens.

Isn't that what you always have been saying how digital radio should
have been? And now you can actually make it yourself!

I'm sure he would have one listener in the UK... dswtfm.

Hmm. Shouldn't we expect that person to be on the other side, working with the pirates, hacking the software code, writing beter transmission algorithmes, etc.?

Humm... Not sure there is much about the DAB+ system that can benefit form being hacked.
