Hi Richard,

Thanks for replying. Now I know the news-server works again.

Your welcome.

The software has just been released; so ... feel free to set up a
pirate station yourself.

Not into illegal broadcasting myself.

Come on, a mux with 4 stations at 320 Kbps aac+!!!

I'd be perfectly happy if they used 128k aac.
In fact I wouldn't be too upset if they used 64k aac+

Isn't that what you always have been saying how digital radio should have been? And now you can actually make it yourself!

Go for it!!!!

Actually if the pirates did use DAB, they would probably have to use mp2, as most of the receivers out there wouldn't support DAB+. Although perhaps there is nothing to stop them using both, provided there are only a few stations sharing the multiplex.

Now I'm tempted to say that if they did that, they might as well just use 320k mp2, but then they would run into the problem of too many receivers not even supporting that.

Well perhaps we'll see if any pirate DAB multiplexes appear in London, but I suspect they will probably stick for FM, as there are more potential listeners that way.
