The market may be OK when deciding
new or keep old or when to move.
But the market is very often not able to select the better technology.
And the market in the UKofGB&NI has decided that all the public deserve
on DAB is clones of monophonic low bit rate stations, and on TV trash
TV (shopping, telephone prostitution services) plus repeat delayed 1 hour
stations resulting in low bit rated pixellated pictures on the commercial
multiplexes.
In other words the market drives quality down, not up.
It needs a firm technical regulator eg CRTC, FCC, Landesanstalt,
Radio-og tv-nævnet, etc not a toothless and ineffective light
touch regulator named OfCon.
