Just recently found out about this portal, really great choice with 12
different genres all in CD quality 24/7 I am highly impressed but not
sure how long they can contiune with very few if any adverts and only
being available online etc
All 'stations' show track and artist info on my Roku M2000 internet
radio - this is the future of radio and play are embracing the fact
100% - also available on the nokia internet radio app if you use a
Nokia N95 etc
Sounds good on my Laptop, but that isn't saying much. Will have to try it out on my hi-fi some time
I wonder if this is the same Play Radio that was around a years or two ago. They used to have a 128k stream, but it was a bit strange that they used aac+ when aac would have been a better option at that bit rate.
According to WinAmp the stream I tried just tried ( http://www.playradiouk.com/playlinks/PlayTop40UK.asx ) is 128k, but Winamp describes the codec as mpeg audio, which could mean a lot of things, so I'm not sure exactly what codec they are using.
Unfortunately I haven't managed to get it to work on my Squeezebox yet. Even entering this address (which I got from Winamp) doesn't seem to work http://audio4.playradiouk.com:8150
Perhaps they only want people to listen of computers, so that they can display advertising on the screen.
