Here's the bit where you got it completely wrong though:
"if you'd graphed the sales themselves instead of the sales
growth if would be an inverted hockey stick curve"
Yes , that was wrong , I didn't mean a hockey stick , I meant a
standard curve, I can't think of the name, starts off shallow, picks
up then goes shallow again. Half of a bell curve.
Pure unadulterated bull*** - squirm city. I know exactly what you meant,
because you described it the first time around: hockey stick shape then
tapering off. You just got it wrong. End of story. Why not just admit it? As
Gordon Ramsay would say: put your hand in your pocket and feel some balls.
Cos you ain't got none.
That graph says: DAB is fucked. And if you can't see that from that
graph, then that ain't my problem.
Frankly , who bloody cares whether it is or isn't.
True. But that's not really the issue here, is it?
At the end of the
day its just a radio transmission system. You need to get a sense of
perspective.
And you need to apologise to me for completely failing to understand the
relevance of that graph.
Your explanation of the hockey stick curve which then tapers out at the end
is the classic S-shaped update curve that all technologies need to follow.
So trying to suggest that you made a mistake is absolute crap, because you
explained very well what should be happening. DAB's cumulative sales curve
would be a straight line, though, continuing for 57 years if growth was
zero. That's the problem, and that's what the graph highlighted, and if you
were honest, you'd admit that you didn't bloody get it. You, and others,
just saw a downward graph and thought "oh, he's trying to mislead people
into thinking things are worse than they actually are" No I fucking well was
not. Things ARE as bad as that, and that was the best graph to sum up the
situation, IMO.
Think about if I'd have used a cumulative sales graph. It would have looked
like DAB was doing pretty well, because it's still a mildly curved banana
shape. But in reality you don't learn anything from that, because that hides
the truth behind what's gonig on, which is that DAB is slowly failing. And
the graph I used shows that perfecly. You just didn't get it, and I doubt
Seani did either.
If computer science students can do it, then engineering students
wouldn't have any problem with it. As I've said, engineering is all
maths - or haven't you been reading?
Theres more to algorithms than just maths. If you don't understand
that then you don't understand computer science.
I watched the Algorithms course videos from MIT, so I know what you're going
on about. To be fair, parts of CS are like engineering, and Algorithms is a
bit like engineering, because it's a combination of maths and design.

The adoption of DAB was the most incompetent technical
decision ever made in the history of UK broadcasting:
