I recently bought a digital radio and am disappointed to find that
I only get the following stations
BBC Radio Scotland, TayFM, TayAM, Heat Radio, Gael, Kiss and Shared
Access
I really want Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Classic FM and Heartland
When I checked on availability of Digital in area the result was "you
are fairly likely to receive these stations, but may need an
external aerial for best reception."
I live in Pitlochry and when I took the radio back to the retailer
in Perth thinking that I had not it set it up properly the sales
assistant set up all the stations. Again when back in Pitlochry I
could not get them.
If the signal is not strong enough in our area will I have to wait
until the TV Digital comes to this are in 2010?
The Digital TV signals won't help your digital radio. You may be able to
listen to some of those stations via a Digital TV receiver when the signals
get to you.
If strong radio signals don't reach your area (quite likely, its going to be
considered as remote and irrelevant by the broadcasters), then your only
options are either external aerials (which means expense, and would help if
you knew it worked), or getting the radio stations via a satellite TV
decoder.
