Bound to sound worse; one is compounding any digital artifacts with any FM
analogue artifacts. But given that few cars present a decent HiFi listening
environment (road and engine noise, dreadful accoustic shapes), I guess the
artifacts are not too important.

Its cheap, its DAB+ capable (so stands a chance of working in Europe in the
near future),

Not if you're in an area where they use L-band.
