Talking of dowsing, I actually tried it way back when I was a schoolboy, and amazingly it seems to work. I lost interest in it at some point.

However for a while I experimented with using some home made dowsing rods to follow the path of drains (or rather the pipes between them) in the playground or in various car parks. At the time that was the only real test I could think of, and I found I had no problem following the path from one drain to the next, even in car parks where I started out with no idea where they were.

Now to anybody watching it would probably have looked as if I was cheating. I knew that I wasn't deliberately cheating, however my only slight doubt was that perhaps I might have been subconsciously observing something about the lay of the land or something, and then subconsciously working out where the drains were located. However even if I was some how subconsciously cheating, it is still hard to explain how I fond it so dam easy to follow the path from one drain to the next.

I think there may well be something to this dowsing, which suggests that there are some things that we don't yet understand. I have more recently discovered that if I hold my arms in a dowsing type pose, I start concentrating, I can feel a slight tingling sensation when I'm near water. Perhaps there are is some type of force lines or something that we don't yet understand. Something that is influenced by water and that has a subtle affect on the body. Whatever the reason, from my own experiences dowsing some how seems to work.

Might be useful if I find myself lost in the desert some day ;)
