Well I find that hard to believe.

Meaning what? That you don't believe it's my genuine opinion, and I'm
saying it to be contrary?

Meaning I find it hard to believe that people can enjoy listening to
something when the sound quality is that poor. I wasn't trying to be
nasty of critical, I simply genuinely find it hard to believe.

Fair enough.

Sorry but I find that recording sounded absolutely dire.

You know that particular final sentence is structured in an irritating,
affected and regrettably familiar way.

Sorry if you read it that way, it was not meant that way. I just find it
genuinely bemusing that music that sounds like that can be considered
acceptable.

It doesn't work for him, and it
doesn't work for you.

I'm not having a pop particularly, it's just a shame this "infection"
seems to have taken hold.

Well it was not something that I caught of of anybody, I have always
fond it bemusing that digital radio is broadcast at such low quality,
but I generally try to make an effort to be polite about it, and to
consider that other people might find it acceptable.

However, keeping an open mind about UK DAB quality is hard enough, and
hearing that DRM sample, I find it just seem to be stretching the point
too far. I really can not consider music to be OK when it sounds like
that, and I find it very hard to imagine anybody actually enjoying
listening to it.

Well, you have one example to go on, anyway.

One thing that *would* put me off is the price; the Morphy Richards
FM/DAB/DRM model is ~150. Given that that sort of money would see my
satellite dish finally installed, it doesn't add up. Pity - there's a
certain indefinable romance about tuning in to something 100's (or even
1000's) of miles away.
