stations on MW, started to migrate to DRM+ (or some other vhf system).
Perhaps that might leave a lot more space in the MW band, which might
make it possible for those still using MW to start using double channel DRM.
If this DRM thing takes off, there will be pressure on the most
popular bands, which would include MF. So I don't see that there will
be any wide-open spaces to fill.
In any case, doubling the channel width will double the TX power
requirement and possibly the spectrum licence fee without doubling the
audience. So the appeal to broadcasters will be rather limited. Most
listeners respond to choice, convenience and cost, and won't care one
way or the other about the technology.
