I'm not going to Devon either, but wrt to audio I listen to RTL 18.4kbps a
sample from last night can be found at http://www.taylorps.prodigynet.co.uk
One would hope that R Devon at 23kbps would be a bit better. Whether DRM on
MW is the right mode for local needs to be seen but its good that some real
audience testing is being done. Which alternative technology would you
consider a better alternative on MW?

I just realised that you said which technology will be better on MW.

I wasn't actually talking about using MW broadcasting systems, but was actually talking about using systems on vhf for local broadcasting instead of MW.Perhaps I should have added the word vhf into my previous post to make that point a little clearer.

Basically I think vhf is a much better choice where it is possible to use vhf, ie for local broadcasting. Lower frequency systems are always going to be short of bandwidth. For long distance broadcasting you have no real choice other than to use the lower frequency bands, but other than that I can't see a lot of use for them in modern broadcasting.
